I was most impressed with the slow speed control. I made a video of my BLI Hudson before and after the upgrade. The before segment showed the Hudson haulin butt at speed step one but the after was a very slow creep. I have installed four of them so far and I also think they are money well spent. My two BLI switchers can actually switch correctly now. Before the upgrade trying to switch was kinda like playing bumper cars.

Terry, I just received my BLI NH I-5 Hudsons to operate on DC but I don't have my test track built yet to run them on. Are you saying that I need to buy the upgrade chip for these?

QSI Solutions Upgrade Chips. What a difference!!!!

 Hi all,

I bought six  QSI upgrade chips at the Springfield Show, including two for the BLI SD40-2s that I have and boy what a difference they made. These locos really do sound like they should, the engine revving and the turbo whine is superb and programmed with the horn you want, which in my case was a Nathan K3, $29.95 each was money well spent. All I have to do now is upgrade the bodywork to match the sound. One other thing, if you intend to upgrade any of your locos it really is a good idea to invest in the tool to remove the old chip, it is quick and simple to use but I would not recommend removing a chip with a small screwdriver as the alternative, the risk of damaging the contacts is too great. I hope this might help anyone thinking of upgrades, but not too sure .       Regards     CPPedler
