Mine doesn't have a plug, but they are set up to take decoders--the motor is isolated, but you need to cut traces on the circuit board. TCS T1 is a good decoder. Take a look at http://www.bevteccom.co.uk/Rail/DCC/P1k_RDC.html or http://www.tcsdcc.com/decoderpics/Proto%201000%20RDC/proto_1000_rdc.htm for examples.

Decoder in RDC-3 from Proto 1000

I was wondering how hard it is to put a decoder in a Proto 100 RDC-3.

 1. Does it have a plug?

 2.Is the motor isolated?

3. Do you have any pictures if you have done an install in one?

4. What kind of decoder?

thanks, Bapou
