Here's another page on Thomas installations:

http://www.trainbuddy.com/Reference/Decoding%20Engines/thomas.htm

Though I don't have any of my own installation pages, I have an overview page with links to various DCC installation pages for Thomas in various scales.

Best!

Any particular reason you're using a Bachmann decoder?

Since it's not a plug-in and it sounds like you need to solder the wires anyway, there is no advantage to using that decoder just because Bachmann also made the engine.  Other low-end decoders may cost less and not give you oddball compatability problems down the line.

Of course, for most applications, the Bachmann decoder is OK, so if you've already got one sitting on the shelf, then go ahead and use it.

I have not done this conversion, but I think you just have to open up the cab roof, remove the PCB, and solder the decoder to the correct wires. Be careful, as Bachmann may use different colored wires than your decoder uses.
