Based on a picture of a GP7 cab side-on shot that I found - below the loco number would be the Reading class designation- OE-9 for the NW2.  Then further below that would be the horsepower value - for the NW2 that was listed as 1000hp.

Reading NW2 information

Howdy, all:

This question was also posted to the Prototype|Locomotives forum.  I am painting a BLI NW2 for a friend in the Reading all-green scheme.  There are not many pictures of these units that I have been able to find, and those have been three-quarter head shots.  I am trying to determine what the two lines of lettering underneath the cab numbers are.  One line is probably a model designation according to nbrodar (thanks for that information) but it was not specified whether that was the EMD model designation or the Reading's.  There is a second line that might be the horsepower rating, but I'm not sure.  There also appears to be some lettering on the frame just above the fuel filler, which I assume deals with the filler and/or the emergency cutoff switch.  The owner of the model has supplied me with Microscale decal set 87-691 which does not show NW2s specifically, so any additional help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
