Well almost any railroad's cars could show up on any other railroad. It's not unusual in NYC pics to see Great Northern and Northern Pacific cars for example!! I'm sure NYC ran many cars from B&M (through their subsidiary Boston and Albany) and D&H; really any NE railroad would be common on the Central.

Freight Cars on the Adirondack Division of the NYC
Posted by bagman on Monday, June 25, 2007 6:18 AM

Hi there

I am wondering what freight cars might have been seen on the NYC ( Adirondack Division ) during the late 40's early 50's. For example, would it be prototypical to run Boston and Maine, or Delaware & Hudson etc ??

Many thanks
