Hi Jim,

I'm not familiar with the "C-8" class designation, but if you mean the prototype of the C&O wood caboose modeled in HO scale by Walthers, there's a very good softcover book on that car. It's called "Chesapeake & Ohio Cabooses, 90700 series," by Dwight Jones and Phil Samuell, published in 2000 by Kokosing Gap Trail Inc., Gambier, Ohio 43022. However, the only car of this type shown in this book with a Chessie logo was on display and later rebuilt and repainted back to its C&O steam-era form. I don't believe this book shows any of the wood cars in service with Chessie paint and lettering.

By the way, thanks for signing your name.

Happy holidays,

Andy

I think you are probably going to have to contact someone in the C&O historical society as no on here apparently knows the answer. I know I sure don't.

C&O wood caboose question

Did any of the C-8 class of caboose make it into the Chessie paint scheme?
I've checked a couple of books, but I can't seem to locate the information. If anyone knows where I might find a picture that would be great. I'm trying to paint a model for a friend for a Christmas present.

Thanks
Jim
