SLSF F3As 5000-5001 and F3Bs 5100-5101 were built in Januay 1948 and are Phase 2 Late. F3As 5002-5017 and 5102-5117 were built in May and June 1948 and are Phase 3 units. A great F3 Phase comparison chart can be found at qstation.org .

I asked about Frisco Passenger cars a few months ago, and was pleasantly surprised by Pat Hiatte's articles in both
Model Railroader
and
Trains
(see
http://www.trains.com/Content/Dynamic/Articles/000/000/004/636iqpsv.asp
).
I'm in HO, though, and I'd like some Frisco F3s. I thought I could strip and paint some LL Proto 1000 F3 for the Frisco, but they seem to have higher fan shrouds than the pictures for Frisco F3s I can find. What phase were Frisco F3s? What phase does the LL model represent? Are there detail parts I can use to more accurately model Frisco wagons?
