Data on X29s
Posted by donoteat on Monday, March 19, 2007 4:02 PM
I'm working on a 3D model of an X29 for Trainz and have just started applying textures. What exactly was printed on the side of the car apart from the roadname and keystone?

Go to the PRRT&HS website and find the Keystone Modeler files.  This past year had a three part article with everything you ever wanted to know about x29s.  The Modeler is free and well worth getting every month.

August 2004 Mainline Modeler has an article and plan on the X-29.

Here are some internet shots for you:

I can't seem to find the issue with that particular information in it on the PRRT&HS website. My main problem is just the small column of data on the boxcar; on all the pictures I have found of X29s they have shown to be amalgamations of pixels rather than discernable numbers.

Join prr-talk and someone will be sure to have a picture or a hundred!  Just send an e-mail to dsop@prr-talk.com with the message subscribe.  There are real experts on that board that will know everything right down to the number and size of the rivets on an x29.

PENNSYLVANIA

                                                                     BLT 11 32  X 29

The palcement isn't quite right and on the line w/ the BLT date the X 29 lettering is about twice the size as the rest and lines up at the bottom.   Depending on the era you want to represent you might want to change the year on the rewiegh date (on the line w/ LT WT) from 41 to whatever.   Hope this gives you what you need
