Signal question
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, November 22, 2003 10:52 AM
Hello,
Does anybody know what a "lunar" signal aspect is?[?] I have seen these mentioned in the Altamont Press guides (which by the way, the are wonderful[:)][:D][8D][8)]). Any information you can give me would be most appreciated.[:D]

Thanks,
Daniel[:)]

A lunar is a bluish white signal light. It is most often used to indicate proceed at restricted speed. It is a common signal when entering unsignalled trackage such as a siding or yard. For example if you has a signal that governed movement over a switch into the yard, then when the switch was lined for the yard (not the main track) the signal could display a lunar signal (or a red over lunar).
