Pics of modern(ish) coalmines?
Posted by CSXFan on Monday, February 12, 2007 6:35 PM

Hi all,

Does anyone have any pics or links to pics of modern eastern United States coalmines? I'm planning a small coalmine on my layout and I want to know what details I need to make it look believable. I'm modeling a modern CSX coal mine so any pics of those or similar mines are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you're interested in anthracite a good place to start is Readin Anthracite: http://www.readinganthracite.com/

For coal in general check out the American Coal Foundation: http://www.teachcoal.org/
