My first HO engine was a Atlas Master F-M H16-44 in PRR paint with the number 8808. I know a prototype exsisted and I am looking for some decent pictures and a history of the loco and would like to know what happened to it.
Hi NS
The info I found on this unit is classed as an FS16m. Assighned to the Pittsburgh region. Equiped with cab signals , M.U., and trainphone.
Hope this helps
Pete
I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
I'm not sure if this engine made it to Penn Central. PC only had one ex-PRR H16-44, which was renumbered to 5158. Here it is in Chicago in 1969: http://rr-fallenflags.org/pc/pc5158g.jpg
PC had other H16-44s, from both the New Haven (5160-5174) and New York Central (5100-5112). IIRC, the rest of these were scrapped in the early 1970s.
