spotting differences
Posted by agent864ever on Sunday, February 11, 2007 5:32 PM

What are the physical differences between SD50 and SD60 locomotives. I have 2 Athearn CSX SD60's which I would like to renumber as SD50's if I can get away from major rebuilding or remodeling.

If you are the only one that is going to see them it does not matter. Check out some diesel sites. There are lots to choose from.

Thanks for the info.  I guess I can live with the slightly incorrect details and go ahead renumber to my hearts content.  I like the "good enough" approach to modelling in this area.

Either way the differences bewteen the 50&60 are minor.

The athearn models are a good start. What road were you planning on doing?
