interlocking tower

I would like information on how the mechanical interlocking towers mechanism operated.

I can only find pictures of the upper part with the levers.

The interlocking part and the control rods are not described anywhere that I have found.

Any suggestions.

Check in Model Railroader's back issues - January 1961 thru June 1961 described how they worked and how to build an interlocking plant for your own trackplan. Cal-Scale at one time made special parts which were listed in the series. I don't know if Bowser - which purchased Cal-Scale got these masters or not. Good luck.

S.roadfeldt,
Looks as though your query got lost for a while - probably a busy day pushed it down in the stack. On page 122 of the January 2004 issue of Model Railroader, you'll find an explanatory and how-to article on interlocking. That will get you started, as will Jim Kantor's response, but if you need more, do a search at the Index of Magazines at this site and you'll find some 133 citations to peruse.
