Glad to help, Brad.

And it gives me an argument for when the wife complains, asking why I have RR and model RR magazines from all the way back in the 60's.

Tom,
I believe that you are on the mark with your info. I also just finished looking through a 2004 Walthers catalog and found the identical truck per photo and catalog picture. These are an Atlas product titled "Barber Bettendorf" for caboose. The Atlas trucks are plastic with a metal wheel set, wonder if anyone makes them in all metal? Hey, thanks again for your help with your great info.

The Western Pacific steel Bay Window Cabooses, series 426-460 were covered in the July 1973 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman. According to the writeup, they were equipped with "Barber-Bettendorf swing motion trucks, complete with Timken Roller Bearings." In the picture, the trucks are in the shadows, but appear to have leaf springs.

What kind of trucks on WP Bay window caboose?

Hi,
I purchased several custom painted bay window cabooses from Greenway Products recently. They are Athearn cabs, one UP and one WP. I am going to detail them with good parts and put the other parts in the dumper. My question was about the style of trucks that were used on modern day steel bay window cabs. I was thinking about putting some Kadee trucks/wheels, but do not know what style they were(name i.e. Bettendorf, etc.)? These from photos are a roller bearing axle with a leaf spring type of suspension on them. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Thanks,
Brad
