There were five Cotton Belt L-1 Northerns built during 1942-43 in the Pine Bluff Shops. The 819 was the last of them and is still extant at the Arkansas Railroad Museum (ARM) in Pine Bluff. The Museum is located in the old Cotton Belt Backshop where the War Baby 819 was built. ARM's open house is this Saturday.

I think they are the 800 series for SSW and later were added to the 4400 series when SP acquired them. I especially need to know the color of the firebox. Also was the boiler all black or was there some graphite or silver on it anyplace.
Thank in advance.

There are all kinds of pictures of SSW #819 on the web.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.
