I like NS but CSX has the B&O.

Thanks for the response. I am trying to push my railroad back into the WWII era and I had a feeling that those did not show up until the 1950's. Well they all go into storage. - Nevin

According to an article I've read - written by Chris Barkan of the the B&O society - the large B&O was first used on hopper cars in 1953, and about 1956 for boxcars. Hope this helps!

Here is a quick question: What year did the Baltimore & Ohio start putting the large B&O on the side of their hoppers and boxcars. I have pictures showing some very late in the steam era but I was wondering waht the very earliest they show up. Thanks - Nevin
