Guys, I agree. Unless you want a GG1 you are pretty much out of luck. [:(] That is of course unless you have$$$$$$$$

I became interested in the "heavy electrics" after my mother-in-law[:0] gave me her old Ives toy train she had when she was a little girl. That got me to doing some research to find out what locomotives these (and lionel's) classic toy trains were suppose to represent. I discovered that these locomotives actually had quite a history and a place in major operations. I guess that is why I am surprised that nobody makes anything like the S-1 (besides Lionel's O scale version). This locomotive alone operated in NYC for about 70 years. That is longer than most. Doesn't that warrant a model from someone? [soapbox]

Hey Tom,

Ya, - I saw that[swg]. Don't look at the price though - its more than the Broadway Ltd. model which in my opinion looks better!![:-^]

Now if only B'way would do an EP-3 or something...[8D]

David,

Don't look! Trix just came out with one. I saw it in the January MR issue.

My appologies, no. I'm talking about the one used back in 1906. It is an electric locomotive. Some versions were actually used into the late 70s.

Ives3235,

Are you talking about one of the Alco "S" switchers? There's a Roco NYC S2 on eBay...and/but it has a decoder already installed in it:

Greetings,

I know Lionel is currently making a model of NYC's S-2 in O scale.

Does anyone know if there is an HO version made, or planned by any companies?

Thanks
