Hey thanks, I have spent much time in Richard Percy's excellent website ever since I frst found it way back in the mid 90's and totally missed that, I guess I was too intent on finding a picture of it. I kind of figured that there must have been at least one painted like this as Athearn has made a lot of progress towards improving the realism of there paint schemes, but sometimes, like Ronald reagan once said "trust, but verify". Thanks again.

Surprisingly, the paint scheme is accurate. Click here to read about it.

I just purchased an Athearn caboose lettered for the SP, the question is, did the SP ever paint a caboose (side number 1741) bright red with a white roof. I know that they had many different paint schemes for their caboose including the SPSF merger caboose and the Daylight caboose but I haven't been able to figure this one out, was there actually a caboose painted like this and where can I find a pic of it. by the way it is Athearn 74664if you haven't seen it yet. Any info you can give me would be appriciated.
