The Environmental Protection Agency is only doing its job, but a recent mandate has cost us two icons of the modern day railroads. The mandate in question, the Federal Regulation that says all locos manufactured after 1/1/05, have to have lower emmissions and better fuel economy. I sure am going to miss the old AC/SD series locomotives.

I wonder if they'll ever apply that "lower emissions" thing to trucks?
