can anyone suggest a source for ready to run hon3 or hon21/2 engines and rolling stock

There were a couple European manufacturers that sold HOn2 1/2 engines, they were maketed by IHC or AHM, and Flying Zoo from Japan made some also. They also made some cars, mostly logging or mining cars.
In HOn3 the only RTR is brass, as far as I know. MDC made some locomotive kits and there are numerous companies that make car kits.

Another good start is Custom Railway Supply @ 719-634-4616. I don't model narrow guage but I always like to dig thorugh the narrow guage stuff, and they have a lot of it.
