BNSF SD70MAC's in San Diego

Hello from England [:)], I have seen a couple of pictures of SD70MAC's down in San Diego. I gather that they are rare in So. Cal so they must be really rare down there. I would like some information as to why they would be in San Diego and what kind of train they would have been likely to have been hauling.

As I work next to the downtown SD station I would say that the daily freight is about 1/3 tank cars 1/3 cov. hoppers and 1/3 other. The daily freight usually has 5-6+ six axle engines on it and around 80-100 cars. The SD70MAC's might have also been used on the grain train (all cov. hoppers) or the autorack train (often 20-30 or so) (last year I used to see autoracks on the back end of the daily freight but haven’t this year. (There are no coal, intermodel trains down here.)

Thanks, have you ever seen one down there ? I expect the usual loco's are C44-9W's but i wonder if any AC4400CW's ever made it down there

Thanks guys, i've found out the type of thrain that the SD70MAC was leading and I have put another post about the type of cars it was hauling. I not that you said that intermodel trains never come down to San Diego but on my version, who is it to say a trial flow was started ;op
