Hey Scott; I was lucky & hit a ton of info regarding your discovery, the C45ACCTE.
I went to my favorite source good ole Google just by typing in the # you gave & wow, there it was at least 8 to10 references. Try it there's numbers ;color schemes & etc.
Good luck & happy railroading.

If they are numbered from UP 5353 through 5553, they are ES44AC's (Evolution Series). Anything above that is an AC4400CW. The UP classes are roughly horsepower based but are modified to be distinctive and show other equipment.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

I believe the rest of it stands for Controlled Tractive Effort.

New Diesel spotted

I saw what appeared to be two brand new UP Diesel locos at the yard
between 4th and 1st Avenues in Seattle today. The script that usually
lists the model number read, "C45ACCTE." I assume the "C" stands for
3-axle truck, the "45" to be 4500 hp, the "AC" to be AC traction
motors, but I have no idea what the rest of it stands for. They both
were numbered in the 5000s. Anybody know what these animals are?
