I recently moved along the old ROck Isand line out of Chicago that goes through Joliet. That is where Metra ends service on that line. I have recently noticed that the F40PH's all have seven cars they are pushing or pulling while most of the F60ph-ac's have five cars. Why would the newer more powerful engines have fewer cars? Are they unable to match the acceleration curves of the F40PH?
