The book is 159 pages, the supplement is 93. Amazon says this about the supplement:
"Building on each of the nine foundational chapters in the 2016 publication "Trail of the The Amtrak Turboliner Story," plus new segments on Turboliner scale models, and the colorful history of Turboliner power car 155, this 2023 supplement provides a treasure trove of additional information, photos, and artifacts that enhance and expand one of the most unique and colorful sagas in the history of American passenger railroading."
I'd have preferred that he give more information on the French development of the RTG trains, and covered the debacle at the end more carefully.
If you care enough about the RTLs to pay the Rapido price for models, you'll probably want the supplement (which, note the above, includes some information about models).
Hi all -- I'm treating myself to one of the Rapido Amtrak Turboliners, and was thinking of buying Trail of the Turbo by Dale Johnson. There's the book, and then there's a Supplement -- more info, an alternative to doing a second edition of the book (guessing he's still selling the first edition). Anyone own these volumes, and is the Supplement worth getting?
Thanks
Aaron
