Years ago, MR had an article on a prototype car made of plastic which was supposed to be a replacement for refrigerated cars with the insulation value of the plastic for traffic like milk, beer etc instead of mechanical refrigeration being used ... was this car idea a success? Were any more made? I think the car was (or cars were...) built for BN. Just curious!

This model was kitbashed by a modeler with Microscale decal MC-4157 "Burlington Northern, Trinity Ind. 67' Composite Box Car," and the starting point was the Walthers 70' cryogenic reefer. The roof has a completely different image, but it's okay when it's completed.278
