The phot is out of Publicker's archive btw
A pessimist sees a dark tunnel
An optimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel
A realist sees a frieght train
An engineer sees three idiots standing on the tracks stairing blankly in space
This is from the Knabb barrel co in Chester PA. These are new barrels headed for Publicker distillery (made old Hickory whisky and also where Thermice cars went) in south Philadelphia( only 20 miles north up the Delaware river) . which would eventually buy Knabb. Shot roughly 1940ish.
PA used to be a huge whisky maker. Far bigger than Kentucky.
Never seen one of these cars in model form. It looks all of 60 foot. car 15 or 16 not to clear
Here is a map of where the KNabb cooperage was.Sorry about the size. couldnt find anything bigger.
