Steven, I would suppose the SDP-28 would have the same physical dimensions as the SDP-35 which was in the catalog at the same time. Other than a turbo charger vs Roots blowers on the 567D V-16, they are basically the same locomotive, just like the GP-28/GP-35. During my tours of duty in Korea, (1968/9 and 1975/6) I had the pleasure of living in a trackside house and it was quite entertaining watching trains fighting the grade with ten to 16 passenger cars or, 30 plus freight cars. KNR had no qualms about running their locomotives, regardless of model, long hood forward, in any kind of service, even up to the GT-26CW.
What length were the 6 KNR SDP28s? The Diesel Shops state 56' 2" but that's the standard length of a Geep at the time, and the 28 seems longer. Any info?
