Rod CarrSome prototype photos show one end is hinged with the other end fixed in place while in use. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
From what it appears, there is a hinged section on each car, opposite of the car it's coupled to.
Like the ramps were for TOFC.

Since his thread was moved from the General Discussion thread to here, He probably left, wondering "WTH?"
I wonder if a message is sent to an OP if and when their thread is moved? And considering the condition of the current messaging system, if he actually got it?
Rod Carr:
What era is your MOW train, Transition Era or Present Day?
I caught this today on VRF. It's a good shot of the rail sections that flip, between cars:
Click on the screen shot, It really enlarges for a good view.
Can you show what prototype photos your talking about?
I have found lots of photos and videos of the Kershaw scorpian type loading ramp, I can't find any decent images of the section between the cars.
In this video, (easier to see on YT.) stop the action at 00:13 seconds and you can get a look at the sections, if that helps at all. It looks like they might hinge into position, and then can be hinged back up right to serve as a stop.
MOW flat cars carry rail and tie repair equipment on rails or guides mounted to the flat car deck. Between cars there are temporary rails or guides that allow equipment to travel between the flat cars while loading or unloading. I'm looking for a source of information and/or photos of these temporary guides. Some prototype photos show one end is hinged with the other end fixed in place while in use. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
