I came across this site the other day which may be of interest to those of you who like Santa Fe Passenger stuff. It has an incredible amount of detail about consists, rosters for locomotives etc. I had a chat with the owner who is ex AT&SF management who said that the info was aquired from within the organisation when working there.

That's a good one too Charles, thanks for the link. Oddly enough I was rummaging about for info on the Blue Goose and the Chief for the last week since I got mine (Blue Goose) and that's how I found it but in a pretty roundabout way and then you popped up at the weekend with your coloured photo. Quite a coincidence since you dont hear much about that locomotive.
This site has every piece of information on all ATSF diesel locmotives including paint schemes, builder numbers and dispositions.

On my current layout, I model Dearborn Station in Chicago, the eastern terminus of the Santa Fe. Santa Fe was the primary tenant at Dearborn Station along with five owner roads.
On my next layout, I plan to model only Santa Fe with the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal (LAUPT) as the western terminus. Gotta love passenger trains.

Yes I visited (looked around the outside of) Dearborne when I was catching the Southwest Chief to LA a few years ago. It's a nice looking station. Sort of a provincial look about it. Good to burn down through Illinois having dinner on the ole' AT&SF but I dare say it was tinged by thinking of what went before.
LAUPT is very very nice indeed so I'd love to see your model when it's done.
Here's a link to a British documentary from 1980 which fo you go to 24.30 has Dearborne at a low ebb but an great interview with a guy who used to photograph the stars there. Also earlier I would have thought the last interview with E.M. Frimbo - Rodgers Whitaker.

Wow, what a great video. I have accumulated a lot of stuff about Dearborn Station, but I have not seen that video until now. Thanks for posting.
It certainly shows Dearborn Station at its low point. The good news is that Dearborn Station itself was saved from the wrecking ball and eventually restored to its old self. Today, the station houses a series of shops and restaurants. The train shed was demolished in the 1970s along with all of the freight houses that stretched south from the station for 8 blocks, a city mile. It was all replaced with mixed housing and parks.
Yes I'd say it's probably not known by many people in the UK now even. I have it of video from when it was shown originally but I nearly wore that out I imagine.
