SLSF Modeling Help
Posted by FRRYKid on Friday, June 19, 2020 1:02 AM

I am in need of some help from the SLSF modelers in the group.  I am preparing to model two cars each from the 9500-14 series and the 9300-14 series. Where I need the help is the following: Does anyone have shots of both series? The pictures I have found online (http://canadianfreightcargallery.ca/cgi-bin/image.pl?i=slsf9313&o=slsf and http://www.railgoat.railfan.net/other_cars/slsf_cars/slsf_number/009500-009514.htm) are not enough detail for what I need. I also could use so advice as to the right stirrup step for these cars. Am I also correct that the Microscale set 87-149 would be the correct set for lettering these cars? Thank you for any assistance that can be provided.

The car numbers in BN of two SLSF number series are:

SLSF 9300-9314 > BN 355245-355259
SLSF 9500-9514 > BN 355241 (167XLI) & 731000-731014 (167RBL)
depends on "Burlington Northern Freight Cars Today"

The pictures found on the internet are BN 355246 and BN 355259. In the photo book "Pullman-Standard Color Guide to Freight Equipment" SLSF 9512. James Kinkaid said "(the 15 cars) were an add-on to a 100 car order for the UP." UP 462100-462199 (BI-90-3)? I hope these help you a little.
