I found some old rosters at www.thedieselshop.us/MPR.html it shows SAL C-420's were retired 5-82.

I believe it was 1972. I don't think that much equipment was repainted for a while though. Were the L&N's in the Family Lines scheme?

I have been going thru some old issues of EXTRA 2200 SOUTH -the locomotive magazine but haven't found the answer yet. A question for you,what year did SCL and L&N form the FAMILY LINES ? I remember seeing a six axle L&N Alco in 1979.

I am hoping someone can check a roster or who may actually remember when and where the last SCL Alco ran and the model.
