I'm investigating logging subjects to help with developing a logging scene on my new layout. I ran across this book source that goes WAY BEYOND the info I need, but it is a very significant resource. ....a very comprehensive book about Timber,...and its a free download Lumber: Its Manufacture and Distribution - Ralph Clement Bryant - Google Books https://books.google.com/books?id=Z1QDAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA171&lpg=PA172&ots=6u7XlPKHD0&dq=Sawmilling+Bryant&hl=en#v=onepage&q=Sawmilling Bryant

The NMRA has been selling its own reprint of this book for some years now.

Walthers's book on lumber/timber is also a good one; out of print at Walthers but not an uncommon find at swap meets.

I find that books that combine industries with railroads to be the most interesting. As modernity advances, these types of books need to keep up, IMO.

I have problems with PM's on this site, as they do not accept Firefox which is what I use all the time. Otherwise I have to jump thru all kinks of other hoops to utilize an alternative internet provider software.
The best way to contact me is thru regular good old traditional email,..railandsail@gmail.com
