Prior to the 1938 "Citrus" painted diesels, the Orange Blossom Special was typically pulled by a M-2 Class 4-8-2. The OBS was a winter tourist, all Pullman train from NY to Miami. Seaboard's Silver Meteor" was their streamline coach train on that service.

Thanks for the help. I am surprised they were powered by diesels that early. Also that they were using those colors since the passenger cars are a tan and red color.

The 1938 diesel powered Orange Blossom Special was headed by a set of ABA E4 locomotives. Paint was green yellow and orange.

I have an IHC 8 car passenger set in Orange Blossom Special paint. Can someone tell me what diesel paint and/or steam lettering scheme would be appropriate for it? The cars are heavyweights. My thoughts are to use a Champ steam era set and letter a tender for them.

Thanks, Randy
