Hey Royal-

Suggest you join the mailing list for the N&W Historical Society (nwhs.org). There are lots of people with lots of good info there.

Also, I'd suggest posting at the N&W and Virginian Railway Forum at http://pub238.ezboard.com/bnorfolkandwesternandvirginianrailwayforum30797. That is a much smaller group but there are some knowledgable folks there, too.

I model N&W in that same era, but my layout is more generic as far as a region. I'm generally doing a mainline in "southern Ohio", but not being entirely accurate about where on the system certain types of locomotives would have been seen (like running an E2a or M in southern Ohio; I don't think those showed up there often - if at all - in the mid '50s).

I am planning on modeling 1950's Norfolk & Western in the Henry and Franklin Co. area of Virginia. I can remember the trains coming through and switching in Bassett at the furniture factories and going up the hill behind my Grandparents house at full throttle. I would like to know if anyone has modeled or has info about this area.
Thanks, Royal Stanley
