I agree with Frank. I'm not a Santa Fe paint expert but I do recall seeing this great Kodachrome photo by Jack Delano which represents the color very well.

The PRR replaced their gold leaf lettering color with a "buff" which looks pretty close to this.
Santa Fe paint schemes can get pretty complex. Take a look:

You don't mention your paint preference. I have recently (well, in the past five years) gravitated to Scalecoat paint. True-Color paint has a pretty extensive color choice, too. Do you have a prefered brand?

I got mine back in the early 90's AB set...with Kadee close coupling.....very sweet runners, with the Kato drive train.

I need to paint some F units to match the Stewart ATSF FT yellow cream color. Does anybody have any experience with that color or have a formula that might work ?
