Both of the turnouts in question are Pecos. They have pins on both sides of both throws.
FRRYKid I have two 3-way turnouts on my new layout. One of them has open locations for ground throws but the other, due to track geometry, the throws would have to go on one side.

All the ones I've seen have been on the same side. That way, the yard worker doesn't have to cross the tracks when both switches need to be thrown. In a railyard with a ladder track, railroads normally put all the throws on the same side of the tracks for the same reason.

Got yet another question for my Forum friends: On the prototype when controlling the dual throws of a 3-way turnout, would the ground throws be on the same side of the track or would they be on the opposite sides of the track? (I have two 3-way turnouts on my new layout. One of them has open locations for ground throws but the other, due to track geometry, the throws would have to go on one side.) I have never seen any 3-way turnouts to go off of.Thank you as usual for any assistance that can be provided.
