Caleb, I can't help you, but if you proceed, please favor us with photos of your work in progress.  We're hungry to see such projects underway.

I'm guessing that the roundhouse was owned by the UP so in that case I'd get into contact with the UPHS (Union Pacific Historical Society) see if their archive has what you search for.

Don Strack has a few UP Common Standards scanned on his UtahRails photo page; including a few roundhouse dimensions (lesson one of UP modeling, check UtahRails first for anything!): https://donstrack.smugmug.com/UtahRails/Union-Pacific/CS-Book/

Hi there,

I just checked out https://www.google.com.au/search?q=cheyenne+roundhouse&rlz=1C1AWFC_enAU758AU759&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=nsKPMK49LWOTrM%252CIs5zw2aaCV8_yM%252C_&usg=__RBAjXTchGnbvmShLUlKKnZGAC94%3D&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi8vPDI3KzcAhVEHZQKHR8EC74Q_h0IqgEwFQ&biw=1920&bih=819#imgrc=4MNT3BJPa-DLsM: and came up with a number of images that it should be possible to scale your model enough to capture the feel of the UP roundhouse.

I also have a couple of slides that I took in early 77 showing diesels around the back of what would have been the roundhouse which might help give you some information as well if you care to PM me.

Good luck with it as I am also planning a (much smaller) roundhouse with 5 stalls... just have to recover from hospital treatment enough to get going!

Cheers from Australia

Trevor

To send a PM, click on the persons name or avatar, when the new window opens, in the upper right hand side, click on "Start a conversation".

To send a PM

Can't use Firefox to send a pm.  Chrome works.
