Hi

I presume you are refering to conspicuity stripes on railroad equipment (rolling stock)?

If you're talking about safety stripes on the noses of diesels or cab-cars I am not aware of any "standard" but was left to the railroad's preference.

is there a comprehensive list avaliable to show positioning of those stripes on equipment?

A pessimist sees a dark tunnel

An optimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel

A realist sees a frieght train

An engineer sees three idiots standing on the tracks stairing blankly in space
