PIE is on My list.......might throw in a ONC. I worked part-time at PIE. Back then you could work at Your normal trk.line in a 40hr. wk and work at another union trk line on your days off, like a weekend and that trk line had to pay you time and a half. It was cheaper for them to do that, because they did not have to pay the health & welfare fund for the other company paid it already. So they would rather do that, then hire more workers to fill the gap and have to pay more money. I also did that at Hyman Freight Lines and Spector/ Mid-States, which also controlled Hennis. Lot of ways to make money back then If you really wanted to. Sure was nice to have two pay-checks every week.

Thanks, Frank. I'll look into those. I remember those Walker models now. Shoulda grabbed them up. I model trucks in 1/25 and 1/24. If I didn't have an HO layout, I think I'd still model HO vehicles anyway. It's a hobby in itself.

That is an original Walker Models white metal casting kit, that I had bought yrs. ago. Walker is no longer in business......but, Wiseman Models makes them now. It is basically the same kit, but with some Resin cast parts, like the cab, is all Resin one piece. The Walker cab was metal and you had to put the cab together. Thanks, Frank. I was leaning in that direction but wasn't sure. I'm not a truck expert. I had a post about why manufacturers don't bother telling us what they are selling but it went nowhere. I was basically told to just research it myself. I sort of think it would be a better deal to have the manufacturers who have already done the research just print it on the package. Duh! I'd rather built the layout and spend my limited research time on railroad equipment.

Well, looking at that google search it looks like this is the truck I was asking about. I know REA used many, many different trucks ove the yers but I was just concerned wih the IMEX ones.

They used all kinds over the yrs.......GMC, FORD, Old Sterlings, LaMoone, Diamond T, IHC, White, Mack, Kenworth which I believe You think is a Peterbilt. They had no set MFG'er....what ever they could get a good deal on, what most company's did.
