Here's a nice shot of the SD9s in the current scheme. I believe these were the old Algiers Winslow and Western SD9s that were painted in a modified Southern scheme for a long time. These locos had a bit of a following and Terry Respondek rescued them and put them into service. I'm sure he's a railfan too.

Yeah, they bleed green and yellow at ITRR. Dale Jenkins is the president. But he's also a founder and longtime leader of the Illinois Traction Society, the IT's histroical society. Dale is author of "The Illinois Terminal Railroad: The Road of Personalized Services" - a really great book on the IT. Plus Dale was a longtime RR cop on the IT and an all-around nice guy. He's got some stories to tell, if you get a chance to lend an ear.

And I believe the NS did a "heritage" unit in the green and yellow ITC scheme.

I think Respondek has painted quite a few locos in those green and yellow colors, but not necessarily the IT specific scheme or lettering.
Yes, that's it. Illini Terminal/Respondek Railroad Corp. Thanks.

You mean this one?

It was a fresh paint job on a rebuilt unit. I don't know if the unit was ex-IT or not.
The name was painted on in the same style as the IT, but as the actual name of the company, like what one might call a "tribute" paint scheme.
Are you referring to the geep sitting in Litchfield, IL?
I can’t recall the name of the little switching railroad either but I can find out.

So this was a "patched" ITC unit, still in the green and yellow. A quick search hasn't turned up anything.
Any more info? Have you searched?
I saw a company in the southern IL area had a locomotive painted in the old Illinois Terminal colors but with their own company name on it. I can't think of the company name now. Anyone know?
