I had also read that the agents for both railroads shared a building.

Just what little I know.

1965 ORER listc Canon City as an interchange

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Interesting question that I thought would have a simple answer.

A 1961 USGS topo map shows a separate ATSF industiral line on the south side of Canon City.  It looks like it might have an interchange with the D&RGW with a brige across the Arkansas River.  However, the indicated rail lines don't ever really connect (and you can't really trust USGS top maps to be real accurate on rail lines).  However, if they don't connect, the ATSF line would have no outlet.  There is hint of an abandoned second rail line from Pueblo to Canon City in some areas, but nothing that looks continous.  I would guess that the ATSF had trackage rights over the D&RGW from Pueblo to Canon City, at least in recent years.   I would imagine that any carloads orginating on the ATSF line would stay on ATSF if headed east.  If westbound, they'd likey be interchanged at Canon City.

Hopefully, someone with more knowledge of obsure ATSF branch lines can provide a definative answer.

Canon City, Co - Interchange?

Hi all

Did the DRGW and ATSF interchange any cars at Canon City ?
I will not set a time frame as that restricts answers that others would like to see.
Thanks in advance
