CRAZY to see cars from that era well-photographed and in such pristine shape! They look like HO models!
I found it to be a very well written and laid out book. I found one on the used book market for about half price
I enjoy looking through it often for reference or casual reading.

Hi gang. I just finished reading through my recently aquired copy of Freight Cars Of The '40s And '50s by Jeff Wilson and published by Model Railroader. It cost me $18.00 but was well worth it because there's a lot of cool photos and reading about transition era freight cars. In fact, I was so impressed with it that I bought two new pieces of rolling stock that I saw photos of in the book such as a BAR reefer and a Marathon oil three dome tank car both of which are dated for the transitional era. Has anyone else out there seen the book and if so what did you think about it ?...
