Missabe M-4 Yellowstone pump placement

I've got two AKANE M-4 Yellowstones, both with Worthington feedwater heater systems. I'd like to convert one of them to Elesco bundle-type, but for the life of me, I can't find a photograph of any of them that show where the Elesco pump was put. I know that the M-4 is based upon the WP 2-8-8-2, and that the WP Elesco-outfitted ones had the pump on the boiler front centered just below the cross-compounds air pumps. Does anyone out there know if that was the case with the M-4's? I know that's where the Worthington pump is placed on the M-4, but I'd like to be sure before I do the conversion. Help!

The Cyclopedia has one three quarter head-on shot of the Elesco version and the caption notes that, ". . . the pump was mounted below the compressors and shows partly in this view." Hundman's foldout drawing and photos confirm that, as does the Walter A. Lucas book.

Bob--thanks a bunch for the information. I just got an old issue of TRAINS magazine from 1980 concerning the M-3/4, but for the life of me, couldn't find a photo showing where the pump was placed. Now I know it's just like the WP Elesco-equipped 2-8-8-2's. Now all I have to do is find a company that puts out the Elesco bundle in a size that I need--Cal-Scale's is too small, according to what I've seen in the photos. I may end up having to fabricate my own 'bundle.' This should turn out to be an interesting--if frustrating--conversion.

You may want to check into Precision Scale Co., Inc.:

Their Web site isn't complete, so you may want to find a dealer that has a copy of their Steam Locomotive catalogue or invest in a copy yourself. Don't mean to state the obvious, but you'll need dimensions from the drawings to compare to the actual scale parts, since the part descriptions aren't all that complete or dimensioned.
