The average train speed entries probably come as a shock to those who run coal drags at speeds measured in Mach numbers .
So much for being criticized for running my railroad at scale 40mph and less.

There was a discussion a while back that there were no more boxcars seen by the OP. What you see on your local train depends on where you live. On this link you can click on a state and see the percentage of intermodal, coal, food, oil, paper etc traveling in that state.
