Rochelle Web Cam and Trains Seen
Posted by joecatch on Sunday, March 26, 2017 5:51 PM

This is probaly a useless question but I have been watching the Rochelle web cam and was really interested in what each train was hauling. I see lots of hoppers for example and it would be fun to know what was being hauled in a particluar train. I also see on Friday nights trains which look like a train carrying tractors or the like. It would be nice to get more info on this.

If it's the train I'm thinking about, the tractors are actually combines.  Coming from the Case-New Holland plant in Grand Island, NE.  I think they are going to the NS, but don't know where their ultimate destination is.  They may be for export.  There's no set schedule for them.  It seems like there is about one or two a week for a while, then nothing.

You might also see some John Deere tractors (from Waterloo, IA) in manifests.  Rarely do they move in there own unit train.
