Modeling whatever I can make out of that stash of kits that takes up half my apartment's spare bedroom.
From MFCL:
BN 470000 is former BN 448616 Blt 10/79 by Thrall Car as a 4750 cuft covered hopper. Car was rebuilt by Thrall at Chicago Height during 1985 and released during Jan, 1986 with reinforced slope sheets and sides and new removeable fibreglass roof.Car was intended to be loaded one way with grain and other direction with coiled steel. Car was wrecked in derailment on ATSF in Texas during spring of 1990. Returned to Havelock, NE during summer 1990 (on flatcar). Accident damage was to expensive to rebuild and car was written off BN roster in 9/90

Hi All,
I am interested in building an HO Scale version of the BN covered hopper shown in the link:
http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/bn/bn470000amh.jpg
I have looked thru RRPicturearchives.net, Railcarphotos.com, and RR-Fallenflags, and this is the only photo I can find of a car looking like this. I know it's not built by PS or FMC. No Portec cars look like it, nor do GATC ones.
Anyone got an idea that could help me? I'm looking for detail shots, specifically the ends, and the ever elusive roof shot. From this one photo, an Athearn PS4740 should do nicely as a starting point.
Any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance guys!
