While browsing for photos for a scratchbuilding project I have coming up, I came across the B&O Museum's Flickr albums.

There's almost 1500 photos here and many are detail shots that you just don't see frequently. Usually you get a plain-Jane ¾ shot. I thought I'd pass the link along for anyone else that may want to browse the collection.
Have Fun, Ed
Great find..I agree we need more close up detail shots as well as detailed period photos of yards, junctions, stations, coaling towers, water tanks etc..
IMHO there's way to many point and shot action photos of railroad locomotives and freight cars. To many of us railfans back in the day overlooked a lot of photo possibilities.

Glad you liked it, Larry.

That's a fact. We took so much of that stuff for granted, thinking that it would always be around... then—

Ed,
Do you have to do anything in particular to see the photos? Being computer illiterate I can't get them to open.
Thanks,

When the pictures appear, simply click on the one which you wish to further investigate.

Roger,
Here is a link to the photos without them being categorized into "Albums" maybe it will work better for you?

At the bottom of each page, then you can click to advance to the next page.
Good luck, Ed
Wayne,
For some reason when I clicked on the link the page came up with all the different photo links. Then when I'd click on them only that one photo would appear. Strange thing these computers! Ed's secod link worked great though.
I haven't been to the B&O Museum in many years and was surprised at the poor condition of some of the equipment. Last time I was there the EA was hooked up with 3 streamlined cars and was beautiful. The 5300 and 494 were parked next to it and they were looking good.
The big surprise was the condition of the very old wooden cars inside that have been inside since I first saw them about 1956. All that rot.
When did the C&O 1604 get back in the museum? Last I heard it was stuffed and mounted in some Mall down the road a ways. Looks like I need a trip back home!
Thanks for the link.

Here is how to make a link clickable:
Once you have copied the link into your post add the following commands:
- At the front of the link type '[' then 'url' then ']'. No spaces or quotation marks.
- At the end of the link type '[' then '/' then 'url' then ']'. Again, no spaces or quotation marks.
The link won't turn blue until you submit your post.
(FYI - I have to insert the quotations here so that the command will show in the post. If I typed the command as I normally would without putting anything in between the letters the computer would see it as a command instead of text and proceed to follow the command instead of just typing the letters.)

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
