I was referred to the lines historical group to find the horn I wanted for my RS-3.

Good luck,

Richard

Are you talking about NS GP9Rs #2000-2003? If so those are exN&W GP9s and should be equiped with N&Ws standard horn.

Hi,

Welcome

I don't have specific information on the GP9Ms but I have used several DCC sound references in the past that might help you choose.

If you can find clear photos of the locomotive you are trying to detail you might be able to use one of the sites above to identify the horn. The Nathan P5 was pretty common on the NS.

If you are looking for a decoder manufacturer that has that particular horn you can then look up the listing of available sounds from the decoder manufacturer to see if your horn is available on that decoder.

Good Luck, Ed

Does any one know what horns that Norfork Southern used on its GP9M? And who sells them.

Thank you
