The Wisconsin Central gondola is coming alone great, it is in paint shop right now. The other gondola i am working on, i somehow messed up the size of it. It is too long and way not tall enough. Not sure to finish it or put it away never to see the light of day again or maybe put some wood side extensions on it. The railroad that it is going to be didnt have any with that as far as i can tell.
Modeling on the cheap
Going to go with steel deck. Hopefully today after i get up will swing by the train yard that i see a lot of them. Somehow i managed not to get a single picture of them all the times i saw them, yet have so many pictures running out of room on the hard drive on the computer.
Still no floor shots, but another valuable resource for you:

I would think steel.
They're built in 1995 and I haven't really seen any other cars that modern with anything but a steel floor.
I'll be the first to admit I haven't seen anything, but these are pretty plain gons and I would lean towards steel deck.
CV_ACR nice web site link btw, some pictures i have not seen else where.
Second question i thought of the other night, steel floors or wooden floors? Have not seen a picture of them that show the inside yet.
This one almost shows the floor.

Light grey.
BTW the full series is WC 54000-54299, built in 1995 by Johnstown America.

WC of course also had lots of older gondolas inherited from SOO Line in grey, maroon and black paint schemes. Walthers has done several of these schemes on their 53' (52'6") Thrall Gondola, which could mix nicely with your scratch built car if you're looking at a collection of WC equipment.
Brakie yes going to be using evergreen plastic for it. I think the ribs i have right now are too big. Also need to get the decal sheet so i get the spacing right on the ribs.
Is the base color white or a light grey? hard to tell in some of the pictures.
Assuming it is WC 54128, its dimensions are:Internal length: 52'-6"External length: 58'-0"Internal width: 9'-6"External width: 10'-5"Internal height: 5'-0"External height: 8'-7"

Wow! Gotta ask are you using ABS plastic sheets and shapes?

That's a 53' mill gon offered by several manufacturers and yes, those decals will work.. I would recommend either a older Roundhouse kit or the newer Atlas,Walthers or Athearn gon.
BTW. This gon comes lettered for WC..
Again, a Google search will give you the answer to your question - looks like a 53´ gon to me.
There is a Prototype section in this forum - the place the experts hang out. Maybe questions like yours are better adressed there.
Can any one tell me the length of this gondola and how tall are the side?

Also would this be a good decal sheet for it? Thanks.
