If memory serves, I recall the color being Madrin Red, it was towards the orange side but I don't have an exact formula or suggestion.

As for odd pairings, Western Pacific ordered its GE road units with EMD Blomberg trucks as crews found the ride quality superior and mechanical forces approved of the parts interchangability among its dominate EMD 4 axle fleet.

I wasn't trying to imply that the configuration itself was unusual. I was only saying that it was not what one would normally see on a GP35. (I seem to be attracted to slightly oddball prototypes.)

I can't answer your question about Frisco red, but EMD diesels on Alco trucks weren't all that uncommon.
After the initial round of dieselisation, many roads realised that it made more sense to standardise their diesel rosters to a single manufacturer, as it cut down on the amount of parts inventory required for maintenance.  When the second generation of locos was introduced, those roads often traded in their Alcos for new EMDs, but specified that they be equipped with the trucks from the traded-in Alcos.

I was looking for another locomtive for my stable (not that I need more locos) to be a mate for an existing one. I found an unusual prototype of the SLSF GP35s that rode on AAR Type B trucks. My question is this: What is the proper red (at least I think it's red) for matching the Frisco "red" on those engines?

Thank you as usual for any help the forums can provide.
